Explore Tuscany of the North

Beautiful Stange Vestbygd is considered one of the most valuable cultural landscapes in Innlandet, and was nominated for the National Cultural Landscape Award in 2015. In 2013, the newspaper VG published an article about Stange Vestbygd with the heading “Welcome to Tuscany of the North”.

Found some 5 km south of Hamar, Stange Vestbygd is one of the country’s most fertile agricultural areas. Its manor farms with impressive architecture and stunning tree-lined avenues sit alongside picturesque beach dwellings and crofts. This cultural landscape, with its wide-open spaces and vast dimensions, is easy to fall in love with.

Open doors all year round

Cafés, farm shops, distillery, accommodation providers, golf, pub, function rooms, medieval church, equestrian centre... The activities to choose from in the area are many, and “Vestbygda”, as it is known locally, is an increasingly popular destination. Please see https://stangevestbygd.no/

A beautiful section of the pilgrims’ path

In medieval times this area was called Skaun, which means “the beautiful”. For the pilgrims, it is a fantastic experience to emerge from the deep forests and walk through this rolling landscape to Domkirkeodden in Hamar. With its numerous trails and Mjøsa within easy reach, the area is ideal for outdoor pursuits.
