At Røhne nedre, our curiosity is tickled; how come the living room walls are decorated with images of Napoleon? When we arrive at Simenstad farm, we are instantly taken back in time by the authentic surroundings. The hostess shares her knowledge of Hedmarken’s food culture – both past and present. Hovelsrud farm is a garden paradise with a magnificent view. The first day ends with a 3-course meal at the stately Hoel farm where we also will spend the night.
After breakfast we will visit Sveinhaug Farm & Historic Pension. Ingeborg, the present hostess, is committed to preserving the building’s original soul and story. A short visit to the medieval Ringsaker church and lunch served on the authentic Sigstad gård. We visit the factory where they still produce the renowned royal Biri Tapestry and follow the Mjøsa southwards. At Peder Balke senter we admire some of the work of this Norwegian artist, represented in Louvre. We end the day at a hotel of good standard.
Visit to Hadeland Glassverk, one of the oldest operational glassfactories in Norway before departure
